The Ikram Foundation is a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit organization formed as a response to the growing number of Muslim women in the United States struggling to re-create their lives and identity after divorce or widowhood.
Ikram Foundation recognizes that there is no formal support for divorced or widowed Muslim women in the United States to leave the cycle of poverty. This population along with their children are at an increased risk of poverty, homelessness, loss of family, community support, stigma, shame, and depression.
